Pastor Maldonado saw the lighter side of his embarrassing shunt during a demonstration run in Venezuela during the Formula 1 summer break mid-August.
The Williams driver damaged his car when he spun during his run on the second of the scheduled 12 laps cutting short his outing in what was a significant event for the Venezuelan.
“Well, it is always tricky to run on tarmac that is not meant for racing - and yes, it was a bit embarrassing, but only a bit,” Maldonado was quoted saying by the official F1 website.
“It was at the end of the show run when everybody already had a good taste of Formula 1, so it was no big deal. And I had the headlines,” he laughed.
