Toro Rosso confirmed that it would be present at the first pre-season test at Jerez with its new car after it announced that it would unveil its 2012 challenger at the Spanish circuit on February 6.
The first test, which starts on the following day, will have Daniel Ricciardo at the wheel of the STR7 on its first outing on the track.
The Italian team had passed all the mandatory FIA crash tests earlier this month.
The Faenza-based outfit, led by team principal Franz Tost, finished last season’s constructors’ championship in eighth place and will field a new line-up this year for the first time since 2006 with Ricciardo partnering Jean-Eric Vergne.
