Jarno Trulli has responded to speculation that his seat at Caterham could be under threat insisting that he will be in Formula 1 in 2012.
The Italian driver has been with the outfit since it began its F1 journey in 2010, under the name of Lotus, but his seat has come under scrutiny with rumours spreading that he could be out of a drive this year.
Trulli, a veteran of 256 starts, signed a one-year extension to his contract with Caterham last season but several drivers have been linked to his seat, despite the 37-year-old's deal with the Tony Fernandes-led squad.
“I have a contract with Caterham and that's it. I know nothing of the rumours. The team hasn't said anything to me,” Trulli told Gazzetta dello Sport. “On Monday I will be in the factory to the get the seat made and everything remains the same for me until I'm told otherwise.
“I'm not talking about the future: each time words are put into my mouth that I will go in NASCAR or I will race in the (Le Mans) 24 Hours,” he added. “But my present tense is F1, I'm only talking about that.”
