The FIA officially released the revised calendar for 2012 following a fax vote by the members of the World Motor Sport Council on Wednesday, confirming that the Turkish Grand Prix has been dropped for next season.
The schedule has increased its number of races from 19 to 20 next season with a return to Bahrain as the fourth round.
The Australian Grand Prix will play host as a season-opener followed by the Malaysian GP in the subsequent weekend.
The United States Grand Prix at Austin, Texas has been positioned as the penultimate round before the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix.
The scheduled has been trimmed from the initial record-breaking 21-race calendar to 20 after the WMSC ratified the list proposed in July by F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone with a unanimous decision.
The month of August is free of any Grands Prix but the year has seven back-to-back events.
