In 2009, HRT became the first Spanish team in history to obtain the license to compete in Formula 1 for 2010. In its second season, the team’s target was to improve both on the track and off it, but the journey was not without its difficulties. In July, the team was acquired by the Spanish investment group, Thesan Capital, who have worked relentlessly to give the team stability and given it that necessary push to consolidate itself. In 2011, HRT team managed to finish the championship in 11th place, ahead of Virgin. The team is now working hard on the 2012 season. The priority is to build a good base, which is stable from a sporting and economic point of view, enabling the team to be more competitive. Besides improving technically and self-designing the car, the team also has a fundamental pillar in a new headquarters in Spain. Apart from the sporting objectives, HRT also works tirelessly on meeting its targets of being competitive, close, approachable and socially responsible.
