The Donington circuit has been host to a solitary GP in form of the 1993 European GP which was won by Ayrton Senna. |  Donington Park was the first permanent park circuit in England. It also ended the monopoly that Brooklands held since 1907. |  The circuit was closed in 1939 due to world war II and it became a military vehicle depot during the war. It reopened in 1977. |  There is a museum known as the Donington Grand Prix Exhibition built in the circuit built by Tom Wheatcroft and has his entire car collection. This museum opened in 1973 has the largest collection of Grand Prix cars in the world.
